While not mandatory, child care is essential for working parents or guardians who need support during the day. It also helps children develop social, cognitive, and emotional skills in a structured environment.
3. Can I change or cancel my child care plan?
Yes, most child care providers offer flexible plans that can be modified or canceled with advance notice. Check your provider’s terms and conditions or speak with their staff for personalized assistance.
4. How do I enroll my child in a child care program?
Enrollment is easy. You can sign up online or visit the facility in person. Be prepared to provide your child’s information, medical history, and any special care instructions during registration.
5. Will child care accommodate special needs or allergies?
Many child care centers offer accommodations for children with special needs or allergies. It's important to discuss these needs in advance to ensure the center can provide a safe and supportive environment.
6. Can I extend child care hours if needed?
Yes, some child care providers offer extended hours or aftercare programs. This flexibility ensures your child is cared for even if your schedule changes or runs longer than expected.

1. What does child care cover?
All guardians listed in our system is allowed to pick up your child from our centre.
If for some reason you or any other guardian aren’t able to pick your child up on a certain day, just give the centre a call and let us know who will be picking them up.
What time can I pick up and drop off my child?
Our operating hours are between 7am – 6pm from Monday to Friday, so anytime between is fine.
Can my child bring their own toys to childcare?
We have a treasure trove of toys here at the Centre! It’s like a wonderland for your little ones.
We kindly request that children leave their toys at home. This helps us avoid any lost or broken toys, and keeps
everything fair for all our friends, and allows our Educators to keep their focus where it matters most – on our wonderful children!
How will I know about my child's activities for the day?
We will keep you updated throughout the day via the OWNA app with details on your child’s activities such as:
- What they ate and how much;
- When they used the bathroom or had a nappy change;
- When/if they had a nap and what time they woke up;
- Activity highlights of the day.
Oh! and we’ll post lots of photos of them for you to see.
What if my child is on medication?
Educators can only administer medication prescribed by a doctor. They cannot administer non-prescription drugs or dietary supplements unless the service is provided with written authorisation by a doctor.
Medication can only be administered to a child by Educators from its original packaging with pharmacy instruction sticker.
On arrival at the Centre, families must give medication to Educators for safe storage and complete a medication authorisation form. Under no circumstances should medication be left in children’s bags.
What if my child has asthma or an allergy?
It is vital that we are aware of any allergies or asthma. Families are required to explain any allergy or asthma on the enrolment form as well as provide us with the diagnosis from the doctor. The Centre has a procedure for the staff follow to mitigate exposure to allergies.
The Centre requires an Action Plan filled in by your Doctor to assist in managing your child’s needs. The Action Plan is to be updated every 6 months.
Can I pack food for my child to bring to childcare?
For the health and safety of all the children at our Centre, outside food is not permitted to be brought in.
But don’t worry we provide nutritional food your child will love. Our menus consist of healthy and balanced meals that use fresh, seasonal produce. This encourages children to develop a positive attitude towards trying new foods. Your child can get involved in special cooking experiences too.
What do I need to pack for my child?
We’ll provide some of the essentials, so you don’t have to, such as:
Bed sheets; Formula; Nappies; Wipes; Food and drinks
What we do ask you to bring is the following: For under 2 years
Nappy rash cream; Dummies; Bottles & Teats; Comfort Toy / Blanket; Sun hat (we’ll gift you one when you enrol); 2x Spare outfits (including socks and jumper); Wet/dirty clothes bag (another gift from us)
For above 2 years
Water bottle or sippy cup; Sun hat; Closed-toe shoes; 2x Spare outfits (including socks, underwear and jumper); Wet/dirty clothes bag (another gift from us); Blanket
Am I allowed to provide expressed milk?
Yes, the nursery room educator will be able to assist you with this during your orientation.

Been going to Harnett House for 2 years and was part of the centre when Froliq took over. It has changed immensely, the renovation and new furniture looks beautiful and the staff here are amazing. I would highly recommend this small family run centre. It's a real community.
